Lead Entities: Rising Tide Communications, Tastemaker Comms

Inspired by the motion of waves—from tidal ripples to boat wakes— the logo reflects Alaska’s pristine waters and masterful stewardship that goes into growing world-class mariculture products. The design is intentionally minimalist, positioning the brand as premium, modern and forward-looking. The branding brings the industry together under one identity, while giving Alaska Oysters and Alaska Kelp their own distinct representations.
The full brand system, including colors, fonts, and photography, will be utilized across AMC marketing efforts, from websites and trade shows to PR, marketing materials, and more. Just as importantly, it’s available for farmers and industry members to use alongside their own logos to reinforce Alaska origin and credibility.
With this branding, AMC aims to support the farmers behind the industry, while building recognition, trust, and demand for Alaska oysters and kelp among chefs, buyers, and consumers across Alaska and the Lower 48.
About the AMC Marketing Program
Funded through the AMC’s Market Development grant component, the Alaska Mariculture Alliance (AMA) and Southeast Conference (SEC) have launched a robust marketing program to increase awareness, demand, and long-term market opportunities for Alaska’s growing mariculture industry. The AMC Marketing Program is being advanced by Tastemaker Comms in partnership with Rising Tide Communications – two experienced firms with extensive backgrounds in seafood marketing, brand development, and campaign execution.
About the Alaska Mariculture Cluster
In September 2022, Southeast Conference was awarded a $49 million U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant to stimulate private investment and grow Alaska’s mariculture industry to $100 million in sales in 10 years. The Alaska Mariculture Cluster grant involves a large coalition of state agencies, Tribes, non-profits, and others working together over a five year period ending May 2027.
