Alaska Sea Grant is requesting proposals from individuals, companies, or organizations to develop and pilot training materials for Alaska mariculture focused marine safety education. Proposals should develop materials such as curriculum, online trainings, videos, or publications that meet any of the following priorities:

  • Aid in the offering of mariculture specific marine safety trainings by organizations that could include but are not limited to the applicant
  • Aid in the offering of train-the-trainer courses with a mariculture focus, similar to Drill Conductor certification courses that are directed to commercial fishermen
  • Allow for the integration of mariculture topics into other marine safety courses such as Alaska Water Wise
  • Assist farm owners and managers to easily and effectively train new employees on best practices for mariculture safety
  • Promote a culture of safety within the mariculture industry in Alaska
